Description
The Georgia Instructor Training (GIT) is a comprehensive program designed specifically for Georgia pre-license instructor candidates. This three-day training is offered by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) in compliance with Rule 520-3-.04(1). Attendance at GIT is required prior to approval as a pre-license instructor in Georgia.
Out-of-state pre-license instructors seeking approval in Georgia may not be required to complete the GIT; however, participation is encouraged in accordance with Rule 520-2-.03(4). Additionally, current instructors seeking to enhance their teaching effectiveness and instructional skills are strongly encouraged to attend.
The GIT program is approved for 12 hours of real estate continuing education (CE) credit and 7 hours of appraisal CE credit. Credit is awarded for attendance on Day One and Day Two of the program.
On Day Three, all candidates are required to develop and deliver a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation on an assigned pre-license topic. Presentations are evaluated based on preparation, subject matter knowledge, ability to engage learners, communication skills, and the effective use of instructional materials.
Tuition includes access to the GIT Candidate e-Manual (a printed version will be available at the event for $20), as well as morning and afternoon refreshments. A one-hour lunch break will be provided each day; lunch is on your own. Participants are required to bring a laptop or tablet to class. A flash drive is required for your presentation on Day Three.
