Robert "Bob" Jones
1931 - 2009
Bob Jones was the first President and one of the founding members of the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association (GREEA) which was originally the Georgia Chapter of the national Real Estate Educators Association (REEA).
Bob began his real estate career as a Salesperson in 1972. In 1976 he obtained his Broker’s license and formed his own company, Bob Jones Realty, which specialized in properties in northeast Atlanta. In 1978 Bob became a licensed Real Estate Instructor and Director of his own real estate school.
No matter what segment of the industry Bob was serving, he always was a leader and strived to be among the best of the profession. As a Broker he received the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Management (CRB) Designation; he was a very active member of the Gwinnett Board of REALTORS® and served as the 1988 President; he was also involved with the Georgia Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®; and, he served long-term as an Advisory Member of the Georgia Institute of Real Estate Board of Governors. As an Educator he earned the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) Designation bestowed by REEA. He served on the Continuing Education and Adult Faculties of the DeKalb Area Technical School, DeKalb Community College and the Gwinnett Area Technical College.
In October 2009 the Board of Directors of GREEA voted to honor Bob for his commitment, leadership and service to the real estate industry by renaming the GREEA Distinguished Career Award to the Robert R. (Bob) Jones Distinguished Career Award.
